Chris Edwards is a descendant of the Gumbaynggirr people of Nambucca Heads, NSW. He iwas heavily involved with the Gnibi College of Indigenous Australian Peoples at Southern Cross University, Lismore, NSW where hewas is a student. He is now specialises in public art installations through his company Edwards & Co.

HChris' artworks of acrylics, sand and glue on canvas have been in exhibitions at the Woodford Folk Festival, Qld (2005), The Robyn Woodward Gallery, Glenbrook, NSW (2006) and the Aboriginal Oceanic Art Fair at Fox Studios, Sydney, NSW (2006). In 2007 Edwards had a solo show, _Our Place,_ at the Seeger Gallery in Leura, NSW. ¶

His life story was documented in the film _A Cry From the Heart_ , written directed and produced by Jeni Kendell in 1999. Edwards was a finalist in the 2007 Parliament of NSW Indigenous Art Prize with his work; _Yuraawi (Shields). _
