Born in Brisbane Queensland Australia 1968, Cindy Wider grew up in Papua New Guinea. At the age of 11 years Cindy returned with her parents and siblings to live in Australia. She resided in Australia from 1979 until 2013 when she then moved to the home where she currently lives and works in West Yorkshire the United Kingdom along with her husband(also an artist) and their two young daughters.

An winning gallery represented fine artist Cindy is represented by Sherlon Gerard in Los Angeles USA and The Kerrmuller Collection and Gallery at No: 10 in Nambour Qld Australia. She also represented as a licensed artist by Lance Klass of Porterfield’s Fine Art in Florida USA.

Cindy was short-listed for the Wayne Kratzmann Art Award in 2011 and her artwork was included in ‘Connection’ a touring exhibition of the 2011 Queensland Regional Art Awards. This exhibition was curated by Michele Helmrich (Senior Curator, University of Queensland Art Museum) and was shown at the State Library of Queensland in 2012.

Cindy was selected as one of twelve artists for the ABC open and Queensland Arts Council project ‘Artist by Artist’ in 2011 and a documentary was created about her artwork. Her most recent solo touring exhibition titled “Rolling Hills of White Flat – the reality and fantasy of life on the land from a feminine perspective” was very well received at the prestigious Outback Regional Gallery Waltzing Matilda Centre Winton, Queensland.

She is also an author of art education books and manuals and has written four soft cover books as well as 37 E-books which form the ‘Complete Drawing and Painting Certificate Course.’ This course is presented as a fully supported internet based art curriculum with her own personally trained team of professionals who teach the course at several websites including her own drawpj.com .

2013 – Representation as a fine artist with Sherlon Gerard of Los Angeles USA

2012 – Representation as a licensed artist with Porterfield’s Fine Art licensing in Florida USA

2011 – Finalist Wayne Kratzmann Award Flying Arts and Queensland Regional Arts Awards

2011 – Queensland Regional Art Awards Touring exhibition Curated by Michele Helmrich (Senior Curator, University of Queensland Art Museum) and was shown at the State Library of Queensland as well as toured throughout regional Queensland.

2001 – Merit Prize – Elders Stock Journal/Royal Adelaide Show – 2001

2004 – Microsoft corporation Sydney Australia purchased a series of limited edition

Prints from an original collaborative artwork they purchased. The artwork was

created by myself and Stuart wider; for their annual corporate Christmas gift.

2000 – First Prize – Elders Stock Journal/Country Arts SA Royal Adelaide Show

1999 – Country Arts SA Scholarship study silk screen printing and exhibition
