Courtney Coombs ia a Brisbane-based artist whose works utilise photography, moving image, installation, performance, sculpture and found objects. My practice engages with the heteronormative, patriarchal structures of both the art world and society more broadly. She is also founding Co-Director of the artist-run initiatives, No Frills* (2008-2010) and LEVEL (2010-current). She graduated from Queensland University of Technology in 2008 with first class Honours, and is currently in the final stages of a practice-based PhD at the same institution. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, in venues such as Casino Luxembourg (Luxembourg), Villa Merkel (Esslingen), Roji to Hito (Tokyo), Artspace (Sydney), Bus Projects (Melbourne), and the QUT Art Museum and Boxcopy in Brisbane. Her work is held in private and public collections.
