painter daughter of a Hobart mayor, exhibited at Hobart in 1888. At the Melbourne Centennial International Exhibition of 1888-89 Miss Wignall of Hobart showed an oil painting in the Tasmanian Court, Government House, Hobart (cat.21). Christie’s had a very nice scene of the Derwent with Government House in the distance by Wignall in 2000 – almost von Guerardish but with a much lighter palette, according to John McPhee.
