Daniel King is a Melbourne based artist and film maker of Awabakal and Thungutti descent. King’s paintings and mixed media works are predominantly concerned with the injustices suffered by Indigenous people. His works often have a satirical and polemic tone, and address themes relating to the history of colonisation, the exploitation of Indigenous artists, and the stereotypes and misconceptions about Indigenous people that circulate within Australian society. Exhibitions have included ’2000 Nothink!’ (2000) and 'Con-sent-Trick Sir-Kills’ (2003), both at the Linden Centre for Contemporary Art, and 'Tribal Expressions’ (2006), at the Arts Centre BlackBox, in Melbourne.
