Painter and teacher who taught art at Perth Technical School 1905-1920. He had trained under Lucien Henri in Sydney. In 1908, while J.W.R. Linton was overseas, he initiated 'home work’ for the students. Given his mentor’s interest in Australian flora, Edgar no doubt reinforced the use of Australian motifs for design work. A rather stilted painting of Mounts Bay Road in 1903 in the collection of the Royal Western Australian Historical Society is one of few known works of his. In 1911 he exhibited designs for fabrics with the West Australian Society of Arts and in 1913 he exhibited paintings. In 1910 his studio is listed in Wise’s Western Australian Post Office Directory as 183 Newcastle Street, Perth.
