Born in Sydney in 1920. Studied at the East Sydney Technical College, 1946-1948. In 1949 he travelled overseas and studied at the Ecole des Beauz Arts in Paris until 1950. Returned to Paris in 1952. He was Assistant Director of Art Gallery of Western Australia in the 1950s. He was also a painter.

He exhibited four oil paintings and one chalk drawing in the 1956 Festival of Perth exhibition in Supreme Court Gardens. In June the same year a painting of his 'From the Hills’, was included in the Art Gallery of Western Australia’s Australian Art travelling exhibition to the North-West.
