portrait painter and music teacher, came to Melbourne about 1850. The Melbourne Directory for 1851 listed him as a portrait painter of 81 Stephen Street 'and at Brighton’. He exhibited a portrait with the Victorian Fine Art Society in August 1853 as a resident practising artist. In the 1860s one David Masson was a music teacher in Melbourne.
