printmaker, born Melbourne, whose woodblock and linocut prints have been widely published. Paull calls her Australia’s foremost woodblock artist. For 'Alice 125’ she did a series of 29 woodblocks on the Alice in Wonderland story as a tribute to two London friends who died in 1988, one of its many themes being 'that of the Innocent Abroad’. Her medium is that used by Tenniel in 1865. “Reflections” 1996, a black and white (with red flowers in woman’s hat) linocut of four men’s torsos with woman behind seen reflected in a car window, was Highly Commended in the 1996 Silk Cut Acquisitive Award for Linocut Prints (Moorabbin, Vic., 1996).
An exhibition of Klein’s prints and drawings was held at the Australian Galleries, Melbourne in July-August 1996, and at Joy Warren’s Solander Gallery, Canberra, 27 May-22 June 1997.
“Lydia The Tattooed Lady” 1995, linocut in edn 20, illustrated her solo show at Australian Galleries, Collingwood, in ad. on back cover of Imprint 30/4 (summer 1995) and shown in Solander Gallery exhibition for sale (unframed) at $600. Other works include “St Kilda Warrior” 1996, edn 15 ($450 unframed), with a tattooed female with the Luna Park entrance mouth on her stomach and “See the Lady Sawn in Half!” 1996, edn 10.
