cartoonist and caricaturist, won the 1990 Stanley Award for best graphic artist. She and Suzanne White were the first women to feature among the winners in an extensive list of categories established in 1985 (small photograph of her in Lindesay 1994, 89). A member of the Australian Black and White Artists’ Club, in 1994 Short was listed as living at Bangor NSW with Steve Short (who won the Stanley for best graphic artist in 1992). Three ink and wash drawings, Edinburgh Tattoo , Bashing and Arrival of the Flying Boat , were drawn for the Telegraph Mirror , probably in 1992, the year they were presented to ML by ABWAC after being shown in the Stanleys at the SLNSW (ML PXD 586/ SHORT, D/1-3).
