Dot Peters of Healesville, Victoria, is a basket and eel trap weaver who won the Australia Council for the Arts’ 2002 Red Ochre Award. She learnt the art of weaving from her grandmother and she carries on with the teaching of weaving by running workshops in local schools. She weaves with sword grass and reeds.
She is a descendant of the Yorta Yorta and Yarra Yarra people of Victoria.
