illustrator, won the Illustrated Sydney News's five guinea prize drawing competition, announced on 3 September 1892 (p.10) for The Young Amazon – an ugly little girl holding her father’s rifle. Dotty Hill was then living at 88 Underwood Street, Paddington, Sydney.
