Listed as a working member of the West Australian Society of Arts in 1896 but did not exhibit that year. She was the daughter or sister of William C. Owtram of Owtram and Purkis estate and insurance agents. Miss E. A. Owtram’s paintings and May Creeth’s were used in an edition of the Western Mail in 1898.

In 1914 in Wise’s Post Office Directory Miss Owtram is listed under 'Teachers of Painting & Artists’ at Agett Road, Claremont, Western Australia which was the residence of W. C. Owtram and also Miss K. C. Owtram. A series of pictures of buildings such as The Barracks illustrated in The Colonial Eye by Barbara Chapman and marked 'R E. A. O’ are probably by her. Miss Owtram was not listed in the 1924 directories.
