Edouard Borovansky was a ballet director who also painted and sketched. A collection of his original works, including an ink portrait of Wassily de Basil are now in the National Library of Australia.

It includes an ink portrait of Wassily de Basil c.1935, reproduced NLA News April 2001, p.14. His drawings and paintings have been digitised as part of the NLA’s image digitisation project, Images 1.
