Edward Shribbs was a theatrical scene-painter and mechanist. He arrived in Hobart Town from England in 1833. By the mid 1830s, however, he began travelling for work between Tasmania and Sydney and was the principal scene-painter at Sydney's Theatre Royal by 1836.
