Description

England Banggala’s late paintings focus on significant mythology interconnected over several sites: Djijapuny, the ancestral water snakes resembling Rainbow Serpents; Jingabardabiya, the traveling female water spirits who changed into triangular pandanus fibre mats at the sacred water hole; Boplinymarr and Lorrkon Djang (hollow funeral log Dreaming).
