Painter born and academically trained in Germany who had come from the Eastern states in the late 1920s. In 1934 Dressler was resident in Johnston Street, Maylands, Western Australia. He worked for the West Australian and for Gibbneys.

He ran a life class upstairs in Bon March_ Chambers – the studio of Lila C. According to Betsey Currie he was a very good teacher. About fifteen students gathered regularly on Thursday nights when they put in a shilling each. There was 5 shillings for the model, 5 shillings for the rent and 5 shillings for Dressler. They often drew each other. Harold Vike, Vlase Zanalis and Leith Angelo were three of the other participants.
