painter, did 'a charming and slightly unusual painting…almost proto-modernist in its composition’ dated 1896, 'which is a view from Balmain looking due east, with rooftops in the foreground’, now in the Colin and Elizabeth Laverty collection, Sydney. An old Eve Buscombe card records the sale of two oil paintings by 'D.G.’ [sic] Grose at Lawsons on 22 November 1972: The Weatherboard Falls NSW and The Woronora River, Port Hacking from South-West Arm .
