Ethel D'Arcourt Bloxam was a founding member of the South Australian Society of Arts in 1892 and a frequent exhibitor, showing her work regularly until the age of 90.
Ethel was born Ethel Annie Bloxam, Her father was Henry A'court Bloxam a prominent solicitor in Mt
Gambier, i can only presume at some stage her middle initial A was presumed to stand for A'court or
perhaps Ethel chose to do this herself, either way
A'court has somehow been altered into Darcourt. I been researching Ethel and her family and have an quite a number of newspaper articles to prove the name change if i need to provide
