Ewa Pachucka came to Australia with an established international reputation as a sculptor. In the 1970s her monumental crocheted works challenged the dominant masculine sense of the nature of sculpture. In 1988 she was commissioned to create Fossilised Architectural Landscape in a courtyard at Parliament House Canberra.
