professional photographer, had a studio at 53 Argyle Street, Hobart Town, in 1864-79. The 'J.’ Paterson catalogued as showing a photograph of the steamship Pyrmont in the NSW and Victoria Court at the 1862 London International Exhibition was possibly the same person.
