Painter, was evidently a pupil of J.S. Bowman. At the 1875 Melbourne Intercolonial Exhibition (preparatory to the 1876 Philadelphia International Exhibition) he exhibited from Bowman’s studio address (31 Russell Street, Melbourne) and with Bowman’s other students: 3058 'A Pool in the Otway Ranges’, crayon; 3059 'Louttit Bay’, oil; and 3060 'Devil’s Kitchen, Piggoreet’, crayon.
