Mid 20th century Sydney cartoonist, illustrator, commercial artist and printmaker, Mahoney was sacked from the Daily Telegraph in 1945 after refusing to draw a certain political cartoon demanded by the editor.
To correct inaccuracies of dates and surname. Will Mahony was my grandfather. I am named Tobin after his mother. He and his mother returned to Australia in 1916 after his father (Frank Mahony) died. Will Mahony died in 1989, the year after my second daughter was born. -
