cartoonist, painter and etcher, was born in Victoria. He studied art in Japan before settling in San Francisco where he published a fortnightly magazine, Chic . After working for the San Francisco Call , Examiner and Chronicle , Nankivell moved to New York in 1896 and made a name for himself as a staff artist on Puck . Later he turned to painting and etching.
