cartoonist, was on the staff of the Queenslander from c.1897 until he migrated to the USA, according to Moore (Story of Australian Art ii, 123). His cartoon Distributing the Commonwealth Bill ('The people of Queensland may expect to get Federation wrappers around their sausages for many months to come’ – a comic butcher and fat housewife) appeared in the Queenslander on 6 May 1899 (reproduced in Memoirs of the Queensland Museum 2/2 (31 May 2002), p.162).

This is not Garnet Agnew, who joined the paper later.
