professional photographer, worked in South Australia in the 1860s and 1870s. At Gawler in November 1864 he advertised additions to his well-patronised establishment, Almar House in Murray Street, noting that he could now take portraits 'equal to any other establishment in the colony’ and that his cartes-de-visite cost 10s for six. Coward was in Rundle Street, Adelaide in 1867-74, then in Palmer Place from 1875.
