Professional photographer and studio manager, worked for Johnstone, O'Shannessy & Co. at Melbourne in the late 1860s where his wife was a partner. His daughter Muriel Binney was also an artist. George was Born in Galway - Ireland, emigrated to Australia, became a business partner of Johnstone / O'Shannessy in Sept 1869. He married Emily O'Shannessy in 1871. They had 2 daughters - Ethel Maud and Muriel.
