A professional photographer, Kendall worked in rural Victoria during the 1860s and 1780s and in 1872 published an album of prints and portraits entitled 'Echuca Illustrated'.

In 1872 he published Echuca Illustrated, an album containing a frontispiece portrait, 20 carte-de-visite portraits and 19 larger albumen prints of views of Australia. He was apparently at Shepparton by the late 1880s.
