George Popperwell began his exhibiting career in London before making the move to Australia in 1977. At this time he took a post educating at the South Australian School of Art, which continued until 2001, when he retired in order to further pursue his artistic practice. George Popperwell is represented in the collections of the Art Gallery of South Australia and the National Gallery of Australia.
