professional photographer, was working in Sturt Street, Ballarat in 1869. He had become a partner in the firm of Doyne, Major & Willett of Melbourne the following year, when he sent a photograph of Tasmania’s South Esk Bridge to the Sydney Intercolonial Exhibition. The Victorian Copyright Collection (La Trobe Library) includes Willett’s portrait photograph of the Princes Albert Edward and George of Wales taken in 1881 during their Victorian tour. Willett’s Royal Photographic Temple of Light at 139 Sturt Street, Ballarat, was his main studio from at least 1889 to 1896; he also had a branch office 'A few doors below the Bridge and nearly opposite the Market’. Willett later transferred the business to Geelong in 1889. His son Percy E. H. Willetts carried on the business in Geelong after George’s death in 1909. A daughter Mrs L.A. Fraser worked in Fraser’s Studio, Ballarat
