Kamilaroi painter, Georgina Altona's work is informed by her Aboriginal history, heritage and dreaming and is guided by the generations of her ancestors passing on knowledge.
Georgina Altona of the Kamilaroi people on NSW has exhibited in Tamworth, Byron Bay and Sydney. In 2006 she was a finalist in the Parliament of NSW Indigenous Art Prize and her artist statement from the accompanying catalogue states that her inspiration is “the knowledge that has been passed down for generations by my ancestors….my paintings express a universal language. I am one of many storytellers and dream keepers of our dreamtime.”
