engraver, lithographer and illustrator, was a regular contributor to Australian Tit-bits (Melbourne, 1884-86). One cartoon by Blanche takes a painting from the National Gallery of Victoria collection, Edwin Long’s 'A Question of Propriety’, and recasts it with local politicians – references to well-known artworks seem to be an ongoing theme across the generations, Juliet Peers notes.
