painter, was the daughter of Professor James Lorimer of Edinburgh University and the wife of Sir Edward Im Thurn, Governor of Fiji at the beginning of the 20th century. Roz Dalziell (CCR, ANU) was writing a biography of Sir Edward in 2000-01. An oil painting, View from the Governor’s Residence, Fiji by Lady Im Thurn was offered at Sotheby’s London auction of 'Topographical Paintings Watercolours and Drawings particularly of American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, South African, Asian, South American, Greek and Middle Eastern interest’ on 27 May 1988 (lot.140 estimate £600-800).
