Englund was a furniture maker, silversmith and woodcarver who studied at Perth Technical School under J. W. R. Linton. In the 1920s he taught woodcarving at the Technical Schools in Perth, Fremantle and Midland Junction. He built Linton’s house at Hovea around 1935 and made the furniture that Linton had designed. The Linton furniture with the ram’s head in the Western Australian Museum was made by Englund. He lived with Linton and Betsey Currie for some time. His main endeavour was a coopering business making beer barrels.
