architect, sketcher, builder and quantity surveyor, was a builder in London before WWI then was involved in many military building projects in the UK. After the war (c.1922), he came to Liverpool, NSW, where he lived for the rest of his life, building public halls and 'hundreds and hundreds of plans for houses in Liverpool’ travelling to the sites on bicycle. He also built the first cricket pitch in Liverpool and was a keen philatelist. On 7 February 2002 his daughter-in-law Joyce Bare opened an exhibition devoted to his work at the Liverpool Regional Museum, curated by John Johnson (Local Studies Librarian, Liverpool City Library).
