Moved from England to New Zealand 1880, married Ada Powis and had three children. Moved to Sydney 1888 and fourth child born. In Sydney worked as journalist. Separated from wife in 1898 and moved to Brisbane, Queensland where he commenced his professional artistic career. His paintings include: Early Morning (Winter) Brisbane River (Welsby collection) and Fitz-Grafton and Poseidon (Brisbane Racing Club collection).
