Contemporary comic book artist. Maier apparently moved to Brisbane in mid-1994 to work for Kinetic Comics, a company that produces comics for the US as well as Australian markets.
Comic book artist, was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, but came to Australia aged two. She told Ingrid Unger that her work is influenced by European culture both through her family background (she draws on her family’s experiences in her stories) and the work of European comic artists who, like her, produce comics that are more thematically complex and fantasy-based than American, British or most Australian publications’ (Unger, p.79). She apparently moved to Brisbane in mid-1994 with Fil Barlow and Matt Thompson to work for Kinetic Comics, a company that produces comics for the US as well as Australian markets.
