Henry Boucher Bowerman b. 1789

A sketcher, civil servant and land speculator, Bowman studied under the well-known painter Thomas Sandby while at the British Military Academy at Woolwich. Arriving in Sydney in 1825, Bowman drew a number of sketches of the Parramatta and Moreton Bay, Brisbane regions.
