Colonial era Victorian illustrator and accountant. Bailliere's 'Melbourne Directory' for 1868, 1870 and 1871 lists Leplastrier as an accountant with Her Majesty's Customs.
illustrator and accountant, drew the illustrations for the Adventures of Mr Newchamp , a satirical jibe at 'new-chums’ published by Stringer, Mason & Co. of Melbourne in 1854 after sketches by 'Henry J. Le Plastrier’ (copy Fryer Library, QU). It was presumably a youthful work. Bailliere’s Melbourne Directory for 1868, 1870 and 1871 lists Henry John Leplastrier, of Brighton and later St Kilda, as an accountant with Her Majesty’s Customs. This presumably is the 1854 illustrator, who may have been a son of Louis H. Leplastrier, a Melbourne wine merchant listed in earlier directories.
