painter, showed an oil Portrait of Brown Horse 'Jack’, the Property of Richd Goldsborough, Esq. at the Victorian Industrial Society’s 1858 exhibition where Lextie was catalogued as an 'Animal portrait painter’ of 134 Moor Street, Collingwood, Melbourne. Richard Goldsborough was a prominent wool merchant and auctioneer whose main interest outside his business was the Victoria Racing Club.
