Cabinetmaker, woodcarver, Isidore Oriol was a Spanish cabinetmaker who arrived in 1853 aboard the James Panter with the Benedictines. He worked first for Bishop Salvado as a carpenter, joiner at New Norcia until 1847 then specialized in church furniture and as a cabinet-maker in Perth.

He married Mary Leahey in 1861 in Perth. He employed a ticket of leave man in 1860s, spent 1865-67 in South Australia. By 1873 he was in Goderich Street, East Perth and in 1874-81 in Perth. He was naturalized and then became a landowner as well. Examples of his work are in the Benedictine monastery in New Norcia.
