sketcher, explorer and farmer, drew a pencil and watercolour Scene from McLaren’s Wharf in 1851 (Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide). This is probably the view of Port Adelaide by King lent to the 1859 exhibition of the South Australian Society of Arts by Captain Lowrie. By 1875, J.B. King was farming at Port Wakefield, South Australia.
