art teacher, established a School of Design in St Michael’s schoolroom, Fitzroy Street, Sydney, about August 1859. Several months later he held an exhibition of his students’ work at which he delivered a lecture on 'Drawing and Practical Art’ before a 'numerous and respectable auditory’.
