Born c.1935, Jack Cook is an Anmatyerre speaker whose country is Ngarliyikurlangu and who paints Emu Dreamings. One of the senior men at Mt Allan, he often delegates his children to paint his stories. He is married to Anne Cook and Rowena Nungurrayi and has family at Ti-Tree with whom he sometimes stays. He speaks excellent English, which he learnt from having been brought up with D.D. Smith, manager of Mt Allan station for many years.
