Landscape, still-life and portrait painter, was born 1779 at Einlage, Prussia. He was trained by Signor Piesio Ancora, a member of the School of Naples, and recorded his extensive travels in his diary. He painted up until a year before his death in 1856. After one brief period of notoriety, he seems to have been forgotten.
