James Urie

  • Artist
Slater & Glazier, born in Kilmarnock, Scotland. He was an apprentice of James Ferguson in Wallacetown, Ayr. Both men came to Australia in late 1852 and started the "Ferguson & Urie" plumbing, slating and glazing company in 1853. By 1861 they were solely a stained glass company. The companies stained glass can be see in the eastern states of Australia as well as New Zealand from 1861 to 1899.
