Sculptor, worked Sydney.


James White carved four statues for the Lands Department Building: Gregory Blaxland in 1893, Daniel Henry Deniehy in 1901, and Captain Arthur Philip and George Bass.


The statue of William Bede Dalley in Hyde Park, Sydney, was designed by White in 1897.


James White was commissioned to sculpt Perth’s Boer War memorial, In defence of the flag, and was awarded the Wynne Prize in 1903 for this work.


White produced the bust of Harry Rickards [died 1911] on his grave at Rookwood Cemetery, Sydney, as well as the smaller copy, Harry Rickards, marble bust, State Library of New South Wales, Sydney, NSW (transferred from Opera House Trust collection 2000).
