Jean Baptiste Apuatimi was born at Pirlangimpi (Garden Point) on Melville Island and is one of the most renowned artists on the Tiwi Islands. She expresses the traditions of jilamara and her family in her drawings and paintings. She had her first exhibition in Melbourne in 1991.
