Jean Baxter is from the Latje Latje and Weragaia peoples of Victoria. Since the early 1980s she has been burning patterns into didjeridoos. The patterns she employs are inspired by her grandfather’s emu egg carvings. Baxter also paints on ceramics and canvas – encouraged to do so by ceramicist, Barbara Egan.
Baxter participated in the highly successfull Possum Skin Cloak project of 2005.
