cartoonist, began his career as a copy boy on Sydney's Daily Mirror in 1942. In 1943 he was a cadet artist. After becoming a graded press artist, he went to Japan and worked on the Occupation Forces newspaper Beacon, providing many small humorous line drawings. Back home in 1951 he worked as an illustrator and layout artist on the Argus and Australasian Post, which invited him to supply cartoons as well. In Brisbane he was on the staff of the Courier Mail, then Sunday Truth, principally working in layout. In 1973 he was a journalist on the Sunday Sun handling editorial layout, writing film reviews and providing weekly current affairs cartoons 'as a diversion’.
